Rae Bareli, May 13 (UNI) Former Congress President and candidate from Rae Bareli seat Rahul Gandhi on Monday said after the departure of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from power at the Centre on June 4, Congress will improve the economy of the country and wenable domestic industries to compete with China.

Addressing an election rally in Harchandpur area under Rae Bareli constituency, Rahul said that his family has the oldest connection with Rae Bareli. He said that his great grandfather Jawaharlal Nehru was taught politics by the people of Rae Bareli.

He said that Congress will improve the country's economy so that Made in India could compete with Made in China. Rahul along with his sister and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi campaigned extensively vigorously in many areas of Rae Bareli.

He was accompanied by many Congress stalwarts including former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

Enumerating many works done by Congress in Rae Bareli, he took a dig at the media and said that today Narendra Modi's face and Adani and Ambani's marriages are shown but the reality of the country which has many problems is not shown.

The Congress leader said that if the Congress government comes to power, Rs 8,500 will be given every month in the accounts of poor women and also 30 lakh government jobs will be given to unemployed youth.

Taking aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that Modi left no stone unturned in making people unemployed and fool. "He fooled people by making them clap and banging plates during Corona and gave the country's money to his rich friends," he said.

Rahul assured that a strict law will be made against paper leaks. "We are going to take a revolutionary step to provide the first permanent job to the unemployed youth in India, in which college and university diploma holders will get a permanent apprenticeship for one year, which will be a kind of apprenticeship right wherein they will get excellent training and a salary of Rs 8,500 per month," he said.

He said that the country's economy will improve if money comes to women and unemployed people. "With these schemes, Made in India made goods will compete with Made in China. The farmers say that they do not get the right price for their produce. For this the government will decide the minimum support price. We will waive off the loans of farmers. The income of Anganwadi and Asha sisters will be doubled," he said.

The Congress leader said that when his government comes to power, it will bring a pension scheme for Ola, Uber drivers and delivery boys. Criticising the Agniveer scheme, he said that the poor who join Agniveer neither get the facilities of pension or canteen nor do they get the status of martyr.

Making a prediction for the Modi government, he said that it will not be able to form the government at the centre for the third time on June 4.
